This paper is concerned with the existence of periodic solutions for the system \[ \Delta[\varphi_p(\Delta x(t-1))] + \nabla F(t, x(t))=0,\quad t\in \mathbb{Z}, \] where \(x\in \mathbb{R}^N\), \(\varphi_p(x):=| x| ^{p-2}x\), \(\Delta x(t):=x(t+1)-x(t)\), \(\Delta^2x(t)=\Delta(\Delta x(t))\), and \(\nabla F\) denotes the gradient of \(F\). When \(p=2\) this problem becomes a second-order discrete Hamiltonian system. Existence of periodic solutions was investigated in many references by using the variational method. The authors study the existence of periodic solutions of the system for \(p>1\) by using Clarke duality and perturbation techniques.
