In this paper the following problem for the quasilinear parabolic equation \[ u_t-\operatorname{div}(\sigma(|\nabla u|^2)\nabla u)+ \lambda u+g(x,u)=f(x)\quad \text{in }\Omega\tag{1} \] \[ u(x,0)=u_0(x),\;x\in\Omega,\;u(x,t)=0\quad \text{on }\partial\Omega,\tag{2} \] is studied, where \(\Omega\) is bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^N\) and \(\lambda >0\). Under some assumptions on functions \(\sigma,g\) and \(f\) and on the boundary \(\partial\Omega\) (the mean curvature \(H(x)\) at \(x\in \partial\Omega\) is assumed to be nonpositive with respect to the outward normal) the existence and some properties of global attractor in \(L^q\) with \(q>N\) and \(q\geq 2\) are proved. Later the existence and some properties of global attractor in \(L^q\cap L^2\) for the problem in the whole space \(\mathbb{R}^N\) are shown by combining the results for the problem (1)--(2) (on \(\Omega=B_R\) -- the ball in \(\mathbb{R}^N\) centred at zero with radius \(R)\) with a simple tail estimate.
