The authors introduce a suitable functional framework to study the dual Petrov-Galerkin formulation of the initial-boundary-value with third-order spatial derivative problem in weighed Sobolev spaces. This framework is then applied to study the well posedness and decay properties of the KdV equation in a finite interval.
