      Two results are proved in this note. On the one hand, it is shown that the farthest point mapping is bijective and involutive on any right circular cylinder in \({\mathbb R}^3\) of radius \(r\) and height \(\leq r(\pi -2)\). On the other hand, for any cylinder \(C\) from \({\mathbb R}^{d+1}\) over a typical convex body \(K\subset {\mathbb R}^d\) all points of bd\((K)\) except those in a set of first category are endpoints of \(C\).
