The authors study the existence of at least three positive \(T\)-periodic solutions for the first order functional difference equations of the forms \[ \Delta x(n) =-a(n) x(n) +\lambda b(n) f(n,x(h(n))) \] and \[ \Delta x(n) =a(n) x(n) -\lambda b(n) f(n,x(h(n))). \] The approach is to use Leggett-Williams fixed point theorem. Some mathematical models in population dynamics are discussed.
