The paper deals with the equation \[ \dot X=f(t,X),\eqno(1) \] where \(f:\mathbb{R}\times D\to \mathbb{R}^N\) (\(N>2\)) is continuous and \(T\)-periodic in \(t\), and \(D\subset \mathbb{R}^N\) is an open set. Based on the existence of a Lyapunov function which acts on differences of unordered solutions, the author shows that the compact invariant sets for the Poincaré map \(P(p)=X(T,p)\) of (1) are totally ordered, and every bounded solution of (1) converges to a periodic one, (here \(X(t,p)\) is the solution of (1) which starts at \(p\)). A convergence criterion for classical cooperative systems expressed through a sort of diagonal dominance condition over the Jacobian matrices is also presented.
