A robust finite element method for singularly perturbed convection-diffusion problems (Q2380935)

The purpose of this paper is to develop a robust approximation of singularly perturbed problem, \[ -u''(x)+ b(x) u'(x)+ c(x) u(x)= f(x),\quad u(0)= u(1)= 0, \] based on discontinuous Galerkin discretization of least-squares variational formulation. The coercivity of the bilinear form is proved. One numerical example illustrates efficiency of the method.
