Accretive operators which are always single-valued in normed spaces (Q2382619)

The authors prove that set-valued accretive operators are in fact single-valued in the interior of their domains in normed spaces under the assumption that they are lower semicontinuous. The result simplifies proofs of several theorems. No selection result is needed since the map itself is single-valued. As an illustration, some results on the existence of zeros of accretive operators and solutions to some variational inclusions are given.
