With the goal to overcome problems of quantization in curved spacetimes, the author develops an approach based on the most fundamental principles, first of all relativity. This principles states that, locally, one cannot distinguish between gravitational and inertial fields. To make use of this, one may put a given special relativistic theory into a manifestly covariant form and perform the second quantization in a manifestly covariant way. To realize this program, the author uses the generalization of Poisson bracket proposed by \textit{H.Ozaki} [Ann. Phys. 319, 364--398 (2005; Zbl 1079.81041)]. and the conventional correspondence principle between Poisson brackets and commutators (or anticommutator). The resulting theory is a curved spacetime generalization of Schwinger's manifestly covariant formulation of special relativistic field theory. Dirac field is analyzed in the framework of the developed approach. It is shown that in this case, in contrast to bosonic fields in curved spacetime, the field momentum does not coincide with the generators of spacetime translations.
