This paper is a long and detailed discussion of the important problem of evaluating the Feynman diagrams in x-space. It is concerned with the so-called Sunrise-type topologies. The n-loop sunrise-type diagrams considered represent a two-point correlation function with \((n+1)\) propagators connecting two points. The analysis gives rise to infinities which need re-normalization and the reason behind these and the ways of dealing with them are well explained. The analysis involves considering the product of a large number of propagators which may give rise to a function of x which is singular at \( x=0 \). Each propagator may be represented by a distribution but since there is not an algebra of these infinities occur. The authors describe the modern way of dealing with these which is to consider a space-time dimension \(D = D_{0}-\varepsilon\) where \(D_{0}\) is an integer dimension and considering the limiting process. The authors conclude that even though there is a limitation in to the class of multi-loop sunrise type topologies enormous simplifications can be obtained.
