    The author deals with a family of Dirichlet problems \[ -\text{div}(V_{z_1}(x,\nabla u(x)),\dots, V_{z_n}(x,\nabla u(x))+ L_u(x, u(x))= F^k_u(x, u(x)),\tag{1} \] \[ u(x)|_{\partial\Omega}= 0\tag{2} \] in the space \(W^{1,p(x)}_0(\Omega)\cap L^{\sigma(x)}(\Omega)\), \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^d\) has a Lipschitz-continuous boundary and with suitable assumptions on \(V\) and \(L\) which are valid for the \(p(x)\)-Laplacian operator; \(V_{z_i}\) for \(i= 1,\dots, d\) denotes the partial derivatives with respect to \(z_i\) of function \(V\), \(V: \Omega\times \mathbb{R}^d\to \mathbb{R}\), \(k= 0,1,2\). Here \(\sigma,\tau\in C(\overline\Omega)\), \({1\over\sigma(x)}+ {1\over\tau(x)}= 1\) for \(x\in\Omega\) with \(\sigma^-= \text{inf}_{x\in\Omega}\sigma(x)> 1\); \(p,q\in C(\overline\Omega)\), \({1\over p(x)}+{1\over q(x)}= 1\) for \(x\in\Omega\) with \(p^-= \text{inf}_{x\in\Omega} p(x)> d/2\). With the help of a dual variational method (under some suitable assumptions on \(L\) and \(F\)), the author proves the existence of solutions of (1)--(2) and study stability of solutions as well.
