Let \(D\subset\mathbb C\) be a domain and let \(\rho\in\mathcal{SH}(D)\). Assume that \(\rho\) is bounded from below. Define \(G_{D,\rho}:=\{(z,w)\in D\times\mathbb C: | w| <\exp(-\rho(z))\}\). The authors prove that in the case where \(D\neq\mathbb C\) the domain \(G_{D,\rho}\) is an \(L^2_h\)-domain of holomorphy iff \(\limsup_{z\to z_0}\rho(z)=+\infty\) for any \(z_0\in\partial D\) such that \(U\setminus D\) is polar for an open neighborhood \(U\) of \(z_0\). Moreover, \(G_{\mathbb C,\rho}\) is an \(L^2_h\)-domain of holomorphy iff \(\rho\) is not constant.
