Some special torsion theories for categories of modules are considered. For a left \(S\)-module \(F\), let \(\mathcal T(F)\) denote the class of right \(S\)-modules \(M\) with \(M\otimes_S F=0\). Then \(\mathcal T(F)\) is a torsion class. Let \(\text{W}_F\) be the corresponding idempotent radical. Now consider a ring homomorphism \(e\colon S \rightarrow R\), and put \(F :=R/e(S)\). A right \(R\)-module \(M\) is said to be a T-module if the natural epimorphism \(M\otimes_S R\twoheadrightarrow M\otimes_R R\) is monic. Then \(\mathcal T(F)\cap{\mathcal M}od\)-\(R\) coincides with the class of T-modules. For a right \(R\)-module \(M\), the sum \(\text{W}(M)\) of all T-submodules of \(M\) is called the T-radical of \(M\). The author proves that \(\text{W}(M)=\text{W}_F(M)\) holds for all \(M\in {\mathcal M}od\)-\(R\). Moreover, an easy argument shows that for any \((S,\,S)\)-bimodule \(F\), the torsion class \(\mathcal T(F)\) comes from a T-radical.
