On the linearization of semilinear wave equations (Q2386719)

For the nonlinear wave equation \(u_{tt}-u_{xx}=f(u,u_t,u_x)\) on the base of equivalence transformations and differential invariants the authors characterize a subclass of linearizable equations. For sufficiently general form of the nonlinearity some classes of general solutions are found.
