The embedding of a graph in a surface is called triangulation if all its faces are triangles. If an embedding has all but one of its faces triangles, then it is called a near-triangulation. In this paper the chromatic sum function for rooted near-triangulations on the projective plane that have no cut-vertex is studied. A chromatic sum equation for such maps is obtained.
