Needless to say that the study of biomechanics of impact suffered by the human body during accidents has proved worthwhile in recent years. This volume contains about 50 papers which are divided into eight sessions and cover a wide range of topics centrally important for such a study. These are different cases of accidents, computational modeling of the mechanics involved in accidents, different types of traumatic injuries, constitutive modeling of human tissue to assess the extend of the injury design, development of safety devices and others. Simulations reconstructing the accidents with the knowledge of biomechanical inputs reported in this volume will undoubtedly play a crucial role in reducing the injury. Thus this volume is indeed an indispensable reference for researchers in impact biomechanics.
