    The spectral problem with data \[ u(x,y)=0,\; (x,y) \in\Gamma_0;\; u(x,y) = 0,\;(x,y) \in O C_1;\; u(x,y)=0, \; (x,y)\in OC_2 \] for the equation \[ L(u)\equiv \text{sgn}\,y \cdot | y| ^n u_{xx} + \text{sgn}\,x | x| ^m u_{yy} + \lambda \cdot \text{sgn}(xy) \cdot | x| ^m | y| ^n u = g(x,y), \quad n,m\geq 0,\eqno (1) \] is considered in the domain \(D\) bounded by the `regular' curve \(\Gamma_0: x^{2 \alpha} + y^{2 \beta} = 1\), which lies in the the first quarter \(x,y>0\) with the end points \(A(1,0)\) and \(B(0,1)\), the characteristics of equation (1) \(OC_1\) and \(C_1A\) in the fourth quarter, and the characteristics \(OC_2\) and \(C_2B\) in the second quarter, where the points \(O\), \(C_1\) and \(C_2\) are given by the following coordinates \(\;O(0,0),\;\) \(C_1\left(x_{C_1}, y_{C_1}\right),\) \(C_2\left(x_{C_2}, y_{C_2}\right),\) \(x_{C_1}=\left({1}/{2}\right)^{{1}/{\alpha}},\; y_{C_1}=-\left({1}/{2}\right)^{{1}/{\beta}},\;\) \(x_{C_2}=-\left({1}/{2}\right)^{{1}/{\alpha}},\; y_{C_2}=\left({1}/{2}\right)^{{1}/{\beta}},\;\) \(2\alpha=m +2,\; 2 \beta=n+2\). In this paper, the eigenvalues are found, and the corresponding eigenfunctions of the spectral problem are constructed in explicit form in the domains of ellipticity and hyperbolicity.
