The authors consider the problem of computing minimal surfaces in a medium with exclusions (voids). They present two algorithms which are based on the evolution of level sets by mean curvature. The first algorithm uses the corresponding PDE and imposes an orthogonality condition at the exclusion surface. The second one is an extension of the BMO algorithm involving a weight function that vanishes in the void. The authors present a number of two- and three dimensional calculations showing similar results for both approaches.
