      Let \(\mu\) be a \(\sigma\)-finite complex measure on \({\mathbb R^n}\), let \(c:{\mathbb R^n} \to {\mathbb C}\) be a Borel measurable function and let \(A = (a_{j,k})\) be a \(\mu\)-a.e.\ non-singular matrix of Borel measurable functions. The present paper deals with the multivariate Hausdorff operator \(H=H(\mu, c, A)\), defined by \[ Hf(x) = \int_{{\mathbb R^n}} c(s)f(A(s)x)d\mu(s), \] and the adjoint operator \(H^\ast = H(\mu, c| \det A^{-1}| ,A^{-1})\). Let \(k_1=\int_{{\mathbb R^n}}| c(s)|\, | \det A^{-1}(s)|\, d| \mu| (s)\), \(k_\infty=\int_{{\mathbb R^n}}| c(s)|\, d| \mu| (s)\).The author obtains the following result. Theorem. Let \(A(s)=\text{diag} (a(s), \ldots , a(s))\). (i) If \(k_1 < \infty\), then \(\| Hf\| _{H^1}\leq k_1 \| f\| _{H^1}\), \(\| H^\ast f\| _{\text{BMO}}\leq k_1 \| f\| _{\text{BMO}}\). (ii) If \(k_\infty < \infty\), then \(\| H^\ast f\| _{H^1}\leq k_\infty \| f\| _{H^1}\), \(\| H f\| _{\text{BMO}}\leq k_\infty \| f\| _{\text{BMO}}\). For this purpose, the commuting relations among \(H\), \(H^\ast\) and the Riesz transforms \(R_j\) are proved. The commuting relations among \(H\), \(H^\ast\) and the Fourier transform are also obtained.
