In the Hilbert space \(H:=l_2(\mathbb{N})\) endowed with an inner product \((\cdot | \cdot )\), the author consider the Jacobi operator \(J=SA+AS^*\) where \(S\) is the right-shift operator and \(A\) is the diagonal operator with diagonal \((a_n)_{n=1}^\infty .\) It is assumed that the numerical sequence \((a_n)_{n=1}^\infty \) consists of numbers for which \(\lim _{n\rightarrow \infty }\frac{a_{n+1}}{a_n}=0. \) The operator \(J\) is compact and self-adjoint, and all its eigenvalues are simple and nonzero. Moreover, its point spectrum is symmetric with respect to zero, i.e., \(\sigma _p(J)=\{\pm \lambda _n \mid n\in \mathbb{N}\},\) where the sequence \((\lambda_n)_{n=1}^\infty\) consists of positive numbers that monotonically tend to zero. In this paper the author proves that \(\lambda_n =(1+o(1))a_{2n-1},~~n\rightarrow \infty.\)
