Let \(H(z)\) with \(z=(q_1,q_2,q_3,p_1,p_2,p_3)\) be a real three-degree-of-freedom analytic Hamiltonian and consider its associated Hamiltonian system \(\dot =J_3 \operatorname{grad}H(z)\), where \(J_n\) denotes the matrix of the standard canonical \(n\)-form in \(\mathbb{R}^{2n}\), \(J_n=\left[\begin{smallmatrix} 0 & I_n\\ -I_n & 0 \end{smallmatrix}\right]\), being \(I_n\) the \(n\times n\) identity matrix. Suppose that this system has a one-parameter family of nondegenerate periodic orbits, \(\{M_\sigma, \sigma\in \mathbb R\}\), such that for \(\sigma=0\) the corresponding orbit \(M_0\) is critical in certain sense, defined in the paper. The generic existence of a two-parameter family of invariant 2D tori which bifurcate from the critical periodic orbit is derived in this paper. Moreover, the coefficient of the normal form that determines the stability of the bifurcated tori is identified. Further, the parametrization of the main invariant objects as well as a global description of the dynamics of the normal form are given, too.
