Birational diffeomorphisms of the real projective plane (Q2388656)

The authors describe all birational transformations of the real projective plane which are diffeomorphisms. They show that the degree of any such diffeomorphism is congruent to 1 mod 4. They also prove that any birational diffeomorphism of the real projective plane can be decomposed into projective transformations and transformations of degree 5 centered at 3 pairs of conjugated imaginary points.
