This paper constructs smooth 4-manifolds homeomorphic to but not diffeomorphic to \(\mathbb CP^2\#6\overline{\mathbb CP}^2\). Previously known examples of manifolds homeomorphic but not diffeomorphic to \(\mathbb CP^2\#n\overline {\mathbb CP}^2\) had \(n\geq 7\). The examples constructed are all symplectic manifolds and have Seiberg-Witten invariants distinguishing them from \(\mathbb CP^2\#6\overline{\mathbb CP}^2\), but they cannot be distinguished from each other with this invariant.
