Let \(n\geq 2\), and let \(\Omega\) be a bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^n\). Let \(\mathcal{A}:\mathbb{R}^n\times\mathbb{R}^n\to\mathbb{R}^n\) be a vector-valued mapping which has the following properties: (i) \(\mathcal{A}(\cdot,\xi)\) is measurable for all \(\xi\in\mathbb{R}^n\); (ii) \(\mathcal{A}(x,\cdot)\) is continuous for a.e. \(x\in\mathbb{R}^n\); (iii) there are constants \(0<\alpha\leq \beta<+\infty\) such that, for a.e. \(x\in\mathbb{R}^n\) and for all \(\xi\in\mathbb {R}^n\), \(\mathcal{A}(x,\xi)\cdot\xi\geq\alpha|\xi|^p\) and \(|\mathcal{A}(x,\xi)|< \beta|\xi|^{p-1}\); (iv) \(\big(\mathcal{A}(x,\xi_1)-\mathcal{A}(x,\xi_2)\big)\cdot (\xi_1-\xi_2)>0\) if \(\xi_1\neq\xi_2\); (v) \(\mathcal{A}(x,\lambda\xi)=\lambda| \lambda|^{p-2}\mathcal{A}(x,\xi)\) if \(\lambda\in\mathbb{R}\backslash\{0\}\). Existence and global pointwise estimates are established for solutions of the quasilinear problem \(-\)div\(\mathcal{A}(x,\nabla u)=u^q+\omega\), \(u\geq 0\) on \(\Omega\), \(u=0\) on \(\partial\Omega\), in the case where \(p>1\), \(q>p-1\); here \(\omega\) is a nonnegative Borel measure on \(\Omega\). This includes the case of the \(p\)-Laplacian, where \(\mathcal{A}(x,\nabla u)=|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u\). The case \(\Omega=\mathbb{R}^n\) is also studied.
