Let \(M\) be a closed manifold fibered over the circle and \(\pi: T^*M\to M\) its cotangent bundle. The author says that a Lagrangian embedding \(i: L\to T^*M\) is monotone on the loops if there exists a non-negative constant \(k_L\) such that \(\int_{\gamma}\lambda_M=k_L\mu_L(\gamma)\) for all \(\gamma\in\pi_1(L)\) where \(\lambda_M\) denotes the Liouville 1-form of \(M\) and \(\mu_L\) the Maslov class of \(L\) in \(T^*M\). Let \(N_L\) denote the non-negative generator of the subgroup \(<\mu_L, \pi_1(L)>\subset \mathbb Z\). The author assumes that \(N_L\geq \dim(M)+1\) or \(N_L= \dim(M)\) and \([\pi_1(M): f_*(\pi_1(L))]\) with \(f=\pi\circ i\) is finite, and proves (Theorem 1.5): (1) If \(<g_1, g_2,\dots, g_p\mid r_1, r_2,\dots, r_q>\) is a finite presentation of \(\pi_1(L)\), then \(p-q\leq1\). (2) \(\pi_1(L)\) is not isomorphic to a free product of two nontrivial groups. The author gets these topological obstructions on the monotone Lagrangian embeddings by extending the construction of Floer-Novikov type complex for an exact Lagrangian embedding of \textit{M. Damian} [Comment. Math. Helv. 84, No.~4, 705--746 (2009; Zbl 1190.57017)] to the monotone case. The Floer homology is not always isomorphic to the Novikov homology \(H_*(L, f^*u)\) for the flux \(u=(\varphi^*_1\lambda_M-\lambda_M)\in H^1(L, \mathbb R)\) of a symplectic isotopy \(\varphi_t\) of \(T^*M\). Under the condition \(N_L\geq dim(M)+2\), the author obtains a spectral sequence which is a ``Novikov version'' of \textit{P. Biran} [Geom. Funct. Anal. 16, No.~2, 279--326 (2006; Zbl 1099.53054)]. It collapses at the first page and the Floer-Novikov homology is equal to the Novikov homology \(H(L, f^*u)\). The results (1), (2) are proved by using the techniques of M. Damian.
