    The paper contributes to the investigation of similarity between fuzzy sets, namely to the methods of measuring them. Cardinality-based similarity measures of two types, depending on two or three parameters and correponding sets of constraints, are suggested and analyzed. They are further extended to a broader family of fuzzy comparison measures. It is shown, by means of theoretical and empirical evidences, that the reflexivity-preserving principle characterizing such family is methodologically advantageous in comparison with other similarity measures.
