Let \(H(\mathbb{D})\) denote the space of holomorphic functions on the unit disk \(\mathbb{D}\). Given a holomorphic mapping \(\varphi: \mathbb{D}\to\mathbb{D}\) and a function \(h\in H(\mathbb{D})\), the weighted composition operator is defined as \(W_{h, \varphi}f(z) = h(z)f(\varphi(z))\), \(f\in H(\mathbb{D})\). Under natural assumptions, the authors introduce a family of complex measures \(\{\tau_{h, \varphi, \alpha}: \alpha\in\partial\mathbb{D}\}\) which represents the adjoint of \(W_{h, \varphi}\) on the Hardy space \(H^2\). If \(h\equiv 1\), then \(\{\tau_{h, \varphi, \alpha}: \alpha\in\partial\mathbb{D}\}\) agrees with the family of Aleksandrov-Clark measures. Under additional assumptions, the authors prove that \(W_{h, \varphi}\) is compact on the Hardy space \(H^1\) if and only if \(\tau_{h, \varphi, \alpha}\) is absolutely continuous with respect to Lebesgue measure for all \(\alpha\in\partial\mathbb{D}\).
