The Hake theorem establishes a necessary and sufficient condition for the Henstock-Kurzweil integrability of a real-valued function defined on a compact interval. The main purpose of the present paper is to establish a characterization of the Henstock-Kurzweil integral on the whole Euclidean space \({\mathbb R}^m\). As a consequence, the authors prove a generalization of the Hake theorem to \({\mathbb R}^m\). The statement of the main results is done in terms of variational measures.
