The problem of relating the Gromov-Witten invariants of a complete intersection and the twisted Gromov-Witten invariants of the ambient projective space has been extensively studied in genus zero, starting with [\textit{T. Coates} and \textit{A. Givental}, Ann. Math. (2) 165, No. 1, 15--53 (2007); Zbl 1189.14063]. However it is still very open in higher genus. In this paper the authors lay down some of the necessary categorical foundations to such a study. In particular, they construct an Euler class for perfect objects in the derived category of an integral Deligne-Mumford stack. They then apply this result to construct twisted higher-genus Gromov-Witten invariants of the quintic threefold, and conjecture that these invariants coincide with the \textit{reduced Gromov-Witten invariants} defined by the second author and \textit{A. Zinger} in [J. Differ. Geom. 82, No. 3, 641--690 (2009; Zbl 1177.53079)].
