Let \(\theta\) be an irrational number in \((0,1)\), and let \(\{ y \}\) denote the fractional part of \(y\). The author considers the quadrature formula \(Q_n[f] = n^{-1} \sum_{k=1}^n f( \{ k \theta \})\) that approximates the integral \(\int_0^1 f(x) dx\). It is well known that the associated quadrature error \(R_n[f]\) converges to zero whenever \(f\) is a Riemann integrable function on \([0,1]\). The main results of this paper are some new upper bounds for \(|R_n[f]|\) under various assumptions on (a) the type of the irrational number \(\theta\) (expressed in terms of its continued fraction expansion) and the integrand function's mean oscillation modulus, (b) the principal subtype of \(\theta\) and the integrand function's mean oscillation modulus, (c) the principal subtype of \(\theta\) and certain smoothness properties of the integrand function, or (d) the principal subtype of \(\theta\) and the periodicity of the integrand function.
