Ideals of regular functions of a quaternionic variable (Q2396648)

\textit{G. Gentili} and \textit{D. C. Struppa} [C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 342, No. 10, 741--744 (2006; Zbl 1105.30037) introduced the theory of slice regular functions of a quaternionic variable. Formulating analogues of classical results for holomorphic functions of one complex variable, questions are raised such as the one addressed in the current paper. The authors prove that for any \(n\), the ideal generated by \(n\) slice regular functions \(f_1,\dots,f_n\) having no common zeroes is equal to the entire ring of slice regular functions.
