In the present paper, the author studies natural positivity notions for line bundles on blow-ups of the complex projective plane along special configurations of points. The first result of the paper can be formulated as follows. Theorem 1. Let \(C\) be an irreducible and reduced plane curve of degree \(e\) and consider \(\pi: X_{r} \longrightarrow \mathbb{P}^{2}\) the blowing up of the complex projective plane at \(r\) distinct smooth points \(p_{1}, \ldots, p_{r} \in C\). Denote by \(H\) the pull-back of \(\mathcal{O}_{\mathbb{P}^{2}}(1)\) and by \(E_{1}, \ldots, E_{r}\) the exceptional divisors. Let \(L\) be a line bundle on \(X_{r}\) with \(L. E_{i} > 0\) for all \(i \in \{1, \ldots,r\}\), and denote by \(C_{1}\) the proper transform of \(C\) on \(X_{r}\). If \(L.C_{1} > 0\) and \(L.H> L.(E_{i_{1}} + \ldots + E_{i_{e}})\) for any \(e\) distinct indices \(i_{1}, \ldots , i_{e} \in \{1, \dots, r\}\), then \(L\) is ample. Another result from the paper is devoted to the global generation. Theorem 2. Let \(C\) be an irreducible and reduced plane curve of degree \(e\) and consider \(\pi : X_{r} \longrightarrow \mathbb{P}^{2}\) the blowing-up of the complex projective plane along \(r\) distinct smooth points \(p_{1}, \ldots,p_{r} \in C\). Let \(H\) be the pull-back of \(\mathcal{O}_{\mathbb{P}^{2}}(1)\) and denote by \(E_{1}, \ldots, E_{r}\) the exceptional divisors. Let \(L = dH - m\sum_{i=1}^{r}E_{i}\) be a line bundle on \(X_{r}\) with \(m\geq0\). If \((d+3)e > r(m+1)\) and \(r\geq e^{2}+1\), then \(L\) is globally generated. Let us recall that a line bundle \(L\) on a projective variety \(X\) is said to be \(k\)-very ample if the restriction map \[ H^{0}(X,L) \longrightarrow H^{0}(X, L\otimes \mathcal{O}_{Z}) \] is surjective for all zero-dimensional subschemes \(Z \subset X\) of length \(k+1\). Theorem 3. Let \(k\) be a non-negative integer and consider a line bundle \(L = dH - m \sum_{i=1}^{r}E_{i}\) on \(X_{r}\) with \(m\geq k\). If \((d+3)e > r(m+1)\) and \(r \geq e^{2}+k+1\), then \(L\) is \(k\)-very ample.
