    Summary: Let \(m, n \geq 1\) and let \(g_{\lambda_1, \lambda_2}^\ast\) be the biparameter Littlewood-Paley \(g_\lambda^\ast\)-function defined by \(g_{\lambda_1, \lambda_2}^\ast \left(f\right) \left(x\right)\) = \(\left(\iint_{\mathbb{R}_+^{m + 1}} \left(t_2 / \left(t_2 + \left|x_2 - y_2\right|\right)\right)^{m \lambda_2} \iint_{\mathbb{R}_+^{n + 1}} \left(t_1 / \left(t_1 + \left|x_1 - y_1\right|\right)\right)^{n \lambda_1} \times \left|\theta_{t_1, t_2} f \left(y_1, y_2\right)\right|^2 \left(d y_1 d t_1 / t_1^{n + 1}\right) \left(d y_2 d t_2 / t_2^{m + 1}\right)\right)^{1 / 2}\), \(\lambda_1 > 1\), \(\lambda_2 > 1,\) where \(\theta_{t_1, t_2} f\) is a nonconvolution kernel defined on \(\mathbb{R}^{m + n}\). In this paper we show that the biparameter Littlewood-Paley function \(g_{\lambda_1, \lambda_2}^\ast\) is bounded from \(L^2 \left(\mathbb{R}^{n + m}\right)\) to \(L^2 \left(\mathbb{R}^{n + m}\right)\). This is done by means of probabilistic methods and by using a new averaging identity over good double Whitney regions.
