Summary: The concept of \(\tau\)-distance was introduced in [\textit{T. Suzuki}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 253, No. 2, 440--458 (2001; Zbl 0983.54034)]; on the other hand, that of \(\tau\)-function was introduced by \textit{L.-J. Lin} and \textit{W.-S. Du} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 323, No. 1, 360--370 (2006; Zbl 1101.49022)]. Strongly inspired by \(\tau\)-function, we introduce a new concept, which is a very slight generalization of \(\tau\)-distance and is more natural than \(\tau\)-distance. So we could say that we redefine \(\tau\)-distance in some sense.
