In the theory of bordered Floer homology [\textit{R. Lipshitz, P. Ozsváth} and \textit{D. Thurston}, ``Bordered Heegaard Floer homology: Invariance and pairing'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:0810.0687}] the idea of type \(A\) and \(D\) structures was introduced as two homology theories of 3-manifolds with boundary, so that a certain tensor product of these two theories would give rise to the Heegaard-Floer Homology of the closed manifold resulting from gluing the two 3-manifolds along the boundary. Inspired by this result \textit{L. P. Roberts} constructed type \(A\) and \(D\) structures for tangles so that the paring would give rise to the Khovanov homology of the link obtained by gluing the two tangles [Adv. Math. 293, 81--145 (2016; Zbl 1362.57023) and Algebr. Geom. Topol. 16, No. 6, 3653--3719 (2016; Zbl 1360.57026)]. In this paper the author gives another construction of type \(A\) and \(D\) structures for Khovanov Homology. The author uses modules over the ring \(H^n\) as introduced in [\textit{M. Khovanov}, Algebr. Geom. Topol. 2, 665--741 (2002; Zbl 1002.57006)] instead of \({\mathcal B}\Gamma\)-modules as did Roberts, where \({\mathcal B}\Gamma\) is a quotient of a quiver algebra on a certain graph.
