Let \(S\) be a semigroup. Let \(\rho_a\) for every \(a\in S\) denote the right transformation of \(S\) defined by \(s\mapsto sa\), \(s\in S\). The homomorphism \(\varphi : a\mapsto \rho_a\) of \(S\) into the semigroup of all right transformations of \(S\) is called the right regular representation of \(S\). The semigroup \(\varphi (S)\) is also called the right regular representation of \(S\). The author takes an interest in the problem to find couples \((C_1,C_2)\) of classes \(C_1\) and \(C_2\) of semigroups such that a semigroup \(S\) belongs to \(C_1\) if and only if the right regular representation of \(S\) belongs to \(C_2\). This problem is solved in the case \(C_2\) is the class of all left cancellative semigroups. Namely, it is proved that the right regular representation of \(S\) is a left cancellative semigroup if and only if \(S\) is a left equalizer simple semigroup, that is, for arbitrary elements \(a, b \in S\), the assumption \(x_0a = x_0b\) for some \(x_0\in S\) implies \(xa = xb\) for all \(x \in S\). A construction of the left equalizer simple semigroups is given. For a semigroups \(S\) such congruences \(\rho\) are considered that \(S\slash \rho\) is a left equalizer simple semigroup.
