If \((M,\omega)\) is a compact, symplectic manifold, \(\text{Symp}(M,\omega)\) is the group of symplectomorphisms, and \(\text{Symp}_0(M,\omega)\) is the connected component containing the identity \(\text{id}\), then the map \(F:\pi_1(\text{Symp}(M,\omega))\to H^1(M;\mathbb R)\), given by \(F(\xi)[\gamma]=\int_{\xi_t(\gamma)}\omega\), is called flux homomorphism, where \(\xi\) is represented by the isotopy \(\xi_t\) and the \(\xi_t(\gamma)\) is the trace of a loop \(\gamma:S^1\to M\) under the isotopy \(\xi_t\). The image of the flux homomorphism is called the flux group and denoted by \(\Gamma_\omega\). If \((M,g)\) is a closed Riemannian manifold, \(p:\widetilde M\to M\) is the universal covering, and \(\widetilde g\) is the induced Riemannian metric on \(\widetilde M\), then a closed \(k\)-form \(\omega\) on \(M\) is called \(\widetilde d\)-bounded if the pullback \(p^*\omega\) is the differential of a bounded form. If \((M,\omega)\) is a closed symplectic manifold, then the symplectic form \(\omega\) is called hyperbolic if it is \(\widetilde d\)-bounded. The manifold \((M,\omega)\) is called symplectically hyperbolic if the symplectic form \(\omega\) is hyperbolic. In [Differ. Geom. Appl. 27, No. 4, 455--463 (2009; Zbl 1171.53342)], \textit{J. Kȩdra} studied properties of symplectically hyperbolic manifolds. It was proven that if \((M,\omega)\) is a symplectic manifold and \(\omega\) is a hyperbolic symplectic form, then \(\int_{f(\Sigma)}\omega=0\) for any map \(f:\Sigma\to M\), where \(\Sigma=S^2\) or \(\Sigma=\mathbb T^2\). In this paper, the author studies the fundamental group of symplectically aspherical manifolds with nontrivial flux groups, and shows that if \((M,\omega)\) is a closed symplectically aspherical manifold with nontrivial flux group \(\Gamma_\omega\neq\varnothing\), then \(\mathbb Z\oplus\mathbb Z\subset\pi_1(M)\), and \((M,\omega)\) cannot be symplectically hyperbolic.
