The authors consider Diophantine quintuples, that is sets of integers \(\{a, b, c, d, e\}\) with \(0<a<b<c<d<e\) such that the product of any two elements is one less than a perfect square. They show that there are no such quintuples for which \(d\geq b^5\) would hold.
