Checking the congruence between accretive matrices (Q2401662)

The author shows that for the class of accretive complex matrices (i.e., those of which the Hermitian component is positive semidefinite) one can design a rational algorithm for checking their congruence (similarity), i.e., an algorithm that performs a finite number of arithmetic operations with the entries of the matrices. The author also provides some extensions of the congruence criterion for the case of accretive and dissipative matrices.
