The authors extend to uniformly convex Banach spaces Theorems 5.3.1 and 5.3.3 in \textit{M. Schechter}'s monograph [Linking methods in critical point theory. Boston, MA: Birkhäuser (1999; Zbl 0915.35001)]. The obtained results are applied to positive solutions for elliptic boundary value problems with \(p\)-Laplacian.
