The authors study the operator norms of \(S_{a,b}\) and \(S^+_{a,b}\) on the function space \[ \displaystyle L^p_{b}(u)=\left\{f\,\Big|\, \int_{\mathbb{B}_n}|f(z)|^pu(z)(1-|z|^2)^bdV(z)\right\} \] for some weight \(u\) on the unit ball \(\mathbb{B}_n\) in \(\mathbb{C}^n\), where \(0< a+b+1\), \[ S_{a,b}(f)(z)=(1-|z|^2)^a\int_{\mathbb{B}_n}\frac{f(w)(1-|w|^2)^bdV(w)}{(1-z\bar w)^{n+1+a+b}}, \] and \[ S^+_{a,b}(f)=(1-|z|^2)^a\int_{\mathbb{B}_n}\frac{f(w)(1-|w|^2)^bdV(w)}{|1-z\bar w|^{n+1+a+b}}. \] In particular, \(S_{0,b}\) is the Bergman projection and \(S^+_{n+1+b,b}\) is the Berezin transform on the weighted space. The main result states that for \(b>-1\) and \(1 < p <\infty\), the norms \(\|S_{a,b}\|\) and \(\|S^+_{a,b}\|\) can be estimated as \[ c[u,u^{-p'/p}]_{D_{p,a,b}}^{1/(2p)}\leq\|S_{a,b}\|\leq\|S^+_{a,b}\|\leq C[u,u^{-p'/p}]_{D_{p,a,b}}^{\max\{1,1/(p-1)\}}, \] where \([u,u^{-p'/p}]_{D_{p,a,b}}\) is the characteristic of the weights \(u\) and its dual \(u^{-p'/p}\). Hence, one can obtain the weighted estimates for the Bergman projection and the Berezin transform. To show the main result, the authors use techniques of dyadic harmonic analysis: using a dyadic structure for \(\mathbb{B}_n\), the authors are able to show that \(S^+_{a,b}\) is equivalent to a finite sum of dyadic operators. By showing an example, the authors prove that the upper bound in the estimates is sharp up to a constant.
