The paper is devoted to the analysis of inverse scattering problems for the Helmholtz equation in waveguides with curved boundaries or interfaces. After using a local orthogonal transform to flatten the waveguide and obtain a new Helmholtz system, the authors propose a numerical marching scheme for this second Helmholtz system. The marching scheme is regularized by using a spectral projector based on the truncated local propagating eigenfunction expansion. Numerical comparisons are performed and discussed (e.g., when considering the Fourier marching method and the spectral projector marching method).
