For a domain \(G\) of the complex plane and a weight, that is, a non-negative function \(\upsilon\) acting on \(G,\) the authors consider the space \(H^\infty_\upsilon(G):=\{f:G\to \mathbb{C}: \text{analytic such that } \|f\|_\upsilon:=\sup_{z\in G} \upsilon(z)|f(z)|<\infty\}\), endowed with the norm \(\|\cdot\|_\upsilon\). The subject of the article is the completeness of \((H^\infty_\upsilon(G), \|\cdot\|_\upsilon)\), which is discussed both from the functional analytic point of view (Section 2) and from the function theoretic one (Section 3). Among the results in Section 2, one finds that \(H^\infty_\upsilon(G)\) is a Banach space if and only if the collection of point evaluations \(\{\delta_z:z\in G\}\subset H^\infty_\upsilon(G)^*\) is bounded on compact subsets of \(G.\) And also, that if \(\upsilon\) is bounded, \(H^\infty_\upsilon(G)\) is a Banach space if and only if there is a bounded, continuous and positive weight \(\tilde{\upsilon}\) such that \(H^\infty_\upsilon(G)=H^\infty_{\tilde{\upsilon}}(G)\). Most of the results in Section 3 are related to the co-zero set of \(\upsilon\), \(E_\upsilon:=\{z\in G: \upsilon(z)>0\}\). For instance, if \(H^\infty_\upsilon(G)\) is a non-trivial Banach space, then the boundary \(\partial G\) lies inside \( \overline{E_\upsilon}\). Also, if \(\upsilon\) is bounded, then the fact that \(H^\infty_\upsilon(G)\) is a Banach space implies that \(G\) coincides with the holomorphic convex hull of \(E_\upsilon\). There are positive results as well: If \(\upsilon\) is continuous and \(G\setminus E_\upsilon\) is a discrete set, then \(H^\infty_\upsilon(G)\) is a Banach space. Both sections contain also a number of further results and remarks that contribute to making this a thorough and interesting paper.
