The main result in the paper under review may be stated as follows. Let $G/K$ be a spin compact simply connected irreducible symmetric space of type ``I'', where $G$ is a simple compact simply connected Lie group and $K$ a maximal compact subgroup. Suppose that $G/K$ is endowed with a Kähler or quaternion-Kähler structure. Then among the spinor fields $\Psi$ satisfying $D^2\Psi=\lambda^2\Psi$, where $\lambda$ is the first eigenvalue of the Dirac operator $D$, there exists at least one such that \[ \frac{\|\Omega\cdot\Psi\|^2}{\|\Psi\|^2},\text{ respectively }\frac{\|(\Omega-6m\mathrm{Id})\cdot\Psi\|^2}{\|\Psi\|^2},\text{ is minimal}\] where $\Omega$ is respectively the Kähler form of the fundamental quaternion-Kähler $4$-form. Here $n=4n$ is the dimension of $G/K$. Analogous results are also proved for Cayley planes.
