Sufficient conditions are found for the existence of positive \(T\)-periodic solutions to the equation \[ x'' +h(t)x' = f(t,x) - g(t,x), \] where \(h: \mathbb{R} \rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) is continuous and \(T\)-periodic, \(f: \mathbb{R}\times (0,+\infty) \rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) is nonnegative, continuous and \(T\)-periodic with respect to \(t\) and \(g: \mathbb{R}\times [0,+\infty) \rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) is nonnegative, continuous and \(T\)-periodic with respect to \(t.\) The function \(f\) may be singular at \(x=0\) (\(\lim_{x \rightarrow 0^+} f(t,x) = +\infty\), uniformly in \(t \in \mathbb{R}\)). This equation can be considered as an extension of Liebau-type differential equations. The proof of the main result is based on the use of appropriate Green's functions (which are assumed to be positive) and a fixed point theorem in cones.
