The authors study entropy solutions of a scalar conservation law \(u_t+f(u)_x=0\) with the single space variable \(x\). They show that the entropy dissipation measure is concentrated on countably many Lipschitz curves. This result is based on a detailed analysis of the characteristics. The authors prove also that the initial datum is attained in a strong sense.
