The Simson-Wallace locus in the Euclidean plane is the locus of all points \(P\) for which the feet of the three perpendiculars to the sides of a triangle \(ABC\) are collinear. The authors investigate what happens to this locus in \(d\)-dimensional projective metric space (with particular emphasis on \(d=3\)), looking for the locus of all points whose orthogonal projections onto the hyperplanes of a fixed \(d\)-simplex lie on a hyperplane. Elaborate computations are involved, which are carried out by a special software, which is also responsible for the drawing of the resulting surfaces. First, the general form of the Simson-Wallace locus is determined in the \(3\)-dimensional Euclidean setting (i.e., for an arbitrary tetrahedron), then in the case of the equifacial tetrahedron, and then in the Beltrami-Cayley-Klein model of real \(3\)-dimensional hyperbolic geometry.
