The author establishes ome congruences on conjectures of van Hamme. These results extend some of Swisher's conjectures [\textit{H. Swisher}, Res. Math. Sci. 2, Paper No. 18, 21 p. (2015; Zbl 1337.33005)]. Theorem 1.1. Let \(p\equiv 5\bmod 6\) be a prime. Then \[ \sum_{k=0}^{(p^2-1)/3} (-1)^k \binom{-1/3}{k} \equiv p^2\bmod p^4. \] Theorem 1.2. Let \(p\equiv 7\bmod 8\) be a prime. Then \[ \sum_{k=0}^{(p^2-1)/4} (-1)^k \binom{-1/4}{k}^3 \equiv p^2\bmod p^4. \] Theorem 1.4. Let \(p\) be an odd prime and \(r\) a positive integer. Then \[ \sum_{k=0}^{(p^r-1)/3} \frac{6k+1}{8^k} \binom{-1/2}{k}^3 \equiv p(-1)^{\frac{p^{2r}-1}{8}+\frac{p^r-1}{2}}\bmod p^{2r}. \]
