Let \(L\) be an even lattice and \(k\) an integer. In the paper under review, the author studies special values of certain regularized theta lifts at complex multiplication (CM) points in a subspace \(H_{k,L}\) of harmonic weak Maaß forms whose values are in a certain group ring extension of \(\mathbb{C}\) attached to \(L\) mapping to cusp forms under the differential operator \(2i v^k \bar{\frac{\delta}{\delta \bar{\tau}}} \). He shows that CM values of Borcherds products can be expressed in terms of finitely many Fourier coefficients of certain harmonic weak Maaß forms of weight \(1\). It is shown that, these coefficients are logarithms of algebraic integers whose prime ideal factorization is determined by special cycles on an arithmetic curve. The results in the paper under review imply a conjecture of \textit{W. Duke} and \textit{Y. Li} [Duke Math. J. 164, No. 1, 39--113 (2015; Zbl 1414.11057)] on the order of those algebraic integers at a certain prime ideal and give a new proof of the modularity of a certain arithmetic generating series of weight \(1\) studied by Kudla, Rapoport, and Yang. The paper concludes with a comprehensive example for \(D=-23\) and it contains improved versions of main results of the author's PhD thesis. It is clearly written and very well organized.
