John Casey proved in 1881 the following generalization of Ptolemy's theorem on cyclic quadrilaterals: If the circles \(O_1\), \(O_2\), \(O_3\), \(O_4\) touch a circle \(O\) in the points \(p_1\), \(p_2\), \(p_3\), \(p_4\), and if we denote by \(t_{ij}\) the length of a common tangent of the circles \(O_i\) and \(O_j\) (if \(O\) separates \(O_i\) and \(O_j\), then \(t_{ij}\) is the length of the internal tangent, else that of the external tangent), then \(t_{12}t_{34}+t_{23}t_{14}=t_{13}t_{24}\). In this paper, the authors prove generalizations to higher dimensions of this theorem, for a generalized \(k\)-sphere (\(\psi\)-tangent, a notion introduced to avoid the many case distinctions orientation requires) touching a number of generalized \(k\)-balls. They also prove a generalization of the problem of Apollonius.
